3 Ways Fear Stops You Achieving Your Goals

Fear can be defined as:  an unpleasant emotion concerning the outcome of something or the safety of someone, caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.  It can be based on the perceived threat of physical, mental, spiritual or emotional harm.

As you pursue your goals, you will have to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone, in order to make progress.  This includes exploring, implementing and letting go of old habitual patterns of thinking, feeling and acting.  As you move beyond your comfort zone, your old comfortable ways  will be challenged, making your uncomfortable and increasing the potential for the unpleasant feelings of fear to arise.  It’s essential to breakthrough your fears if you want to be successful.

Successful Goal Achievement Requires Adaptability

Change is inevitable – it’s one of the few constants in life that don’t change.   As you pursue your goals, you will have to make changes in order to get new results.  That’s why adaptability is an essential quality for you to have if you want to empower yourself to successfully achieve your life goals and business goals.

Adaptability Requires You To Shift

Adaptability is the ability to change according to new circumstances.  That includes the ability to adapt to changing demands, changing environment.

It requires a level of willingness to let go of old ways of doing things, of how you think things should be.  As you work on progressing your goals, there will be unforeseen challenges which appear.  It’s up to you to empower yourself to make the necessary adjustments.  It will require you to break through old patterns, to shift your thinking and adjust to these changing circumstances.

Stress is the body’s reaction to a change that requires a physical, mental or emotional adjustment or response.  It’s a person’s physiological response to an internal or external stimulus that triggers the fight-or-flight response.
